Mission Statement
Playhouse 395 strives to provide the highest quality community theatre through productions and educational activities for people in all life stages, and, to provide theater management services for the BUHS performing arts venue with long-term sights set on a new state-of-the-art Eastern Sierra Performing Arts Center.
History
Playhouse 395 productively served the Eastern Sierra Community as an unofficial non-profit theatrical organization from the early 1970s into the late 1980s. A renaissance of interest and energy in the performing arts resulted in the re-establishment of Playhouse 395, starting with our 2006 season.
Objectives for 2008-2009
*Present another season of shows and educational opportunities in the performing arts
*Acquire currently needed physical capital as well as develop the financial capacity to bring on a part-time business manager who would establish consistent business hours at the Box Office & Performing Arts Studio; eventually bring on a full-time executive artistic director
*Provide the community with increased opportunities in self-expression in the arts at our Performing Arts Studio & Box Office by continuing to collaborate with local dance teachers and other performing artists. We are excited about the "Gotta Dance" Movement for Stage Workshops being offered by Choreographer Kim Frey.
*Continue working to make the BUHS Theater facility the best it can be and offer a full-range of theater services to all performing arts groups in the Eastern Sierra Community
*Take the lead in building a Performing Arts Center for the Eastern Sierra Community in Bishop, CA -- target completion year 2014
