Welcome to Playhouse 395, A Message from Our Board President - My name is Don Kunze and I am honored to be serving on the Board of Directors in my third term as President. I am not now nor do I ever aspire to become an actor out on a Playhouse stage. Instead, I prefer working behind the scenes on stage crews, set construction, special effects, lighting, stage manager and generally trying to follow my own adage that if you see me during a show, something has gone terribly wrong. I am but a small piece of the great mosaic of actors, directors, musicians, lighting and sound technicians, make-up and costume designers, production and house management teams that all come together to present the Highest Quality Productions Playhouse 395 has come to be known for. I am honored to be supported in a leadership role on the Playhouse 395. Considering the talent and expertise of our great board, that they place their confidence in me to lead this organization is an honor I cherish. They are a fine board, donating untold hours of time and lending their unique abilities to guide this organization to uphold its mission statement of bringing community theatre to the people of the Eastern Sierra. I have been proud to be a part of the evolution of Playhouse 395 going from producing two musicals per year to now, along with those productions, expanding to non-musicals, smaller more intimate productions such as “What I Wore”. We have embraced delightful productions such as Suds, along with Doyle and Debbie and have been expanding to the production of Radio Plays. Supporting our youth producing their own productions along with partnering with the City of Bishop’s Children’s Theatre Workshop (CTW) that keeps our talent pool ever fresh and growing as we provide opportunities for the young people of our area to experience the joy and wonder of live theatre. We are continually seeking out productions that our local community want to see and are excited by what productions lay ahead of us in the near future. I would encourage you to keep checking back on our website to see what is coming and perhaps, finding a role you might want to audition for or a production position you might want to lend your help with. I and this board, are always open to new ideas and hope to support anyone who is wanting to produce a play and needs an organization to help them make that happen. We are dedicated to community theatre which means we ae dedicated to you. I would also add that we are always in need or any and all talents you might want to bring to our organization. I am living proof that you don’t have to be an actor to find a role in Playhouse 395 and would welcome you to join us.
