Auditions
🎭 MATILDA THE MUSICAL 🎭
Performer auditions:
Roald Dahl's Matilda, adapted by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. It's the story of an extraordinary girl who is unloved at home but finds a teacher who believes in her — and it offers performers of every age the chance to stretch themselves in singing, acting, and dance.
Auditions are held at the Bishop High School Theater:
Friday, Aug. 21 · 4:00–8:00 PM
Saturday, Aug. 22 · 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Prepare a song no longer than 90 seconds and bring your own accompaniment — every audition must have it. You'll also learn a short dance sequence and read lines for the role you're after. Callbacks are Sunday, Aug. 23, and the final cast list is posted here that evening.
Before you commit: producing a musical takes real time, and most of our cast and crew are students or working adults. Rehearsals run Monday–Thursday evenings from Aug. 24 through the run, with performances Nov. 5–22 and a mandatory cleanup on Nov. 22. Frequent unexcused absences may cost you your place in the show. Please look at the full schedule before you sign up.
Two things to do:
1. Read, sign, and bring the audition packet to your audition — full rehearsal schedule, show dates, cleanup dates, and everything you need to know.
→ Download the packet here.
2. Sign up for an audition slot.
